Synopsis
It is one of the most powerful weapons in the world. Cheap, efficient, and highly effective, suicide bombing has played a significant role in terrorist activity for decades. What are the common characteristics found among suicide bombers, and why would anyone choose to end their life in such a violent and destructive way? In this chilling examination of the psychology behind suicide bombing, THE HISTORY CHANNEL® attempts to answer these, and many other complex questions. From Japanese kamikaze pilots during World War II to the more recent Palestinian bombers in Israel, experts reveal that suicide terrorism is not a personal phenomenon, but one that almost inevitably gestates in a group environment. Interviews with an Israeli Army senior intelligence analyst, a kamikaze pilot survivor, two failed suicide bombers, and several victims provide a frightening glimpse INSIDE THE MIND OF A SUICIDE BOMBER.
