Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies (browser local storage) Kinozine uses at https://kinozine.com and how you can manage them. It is effective from 2026-10-13.
1. What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They are sent back to that website automatically with every request.
Local storage (localStorage) is a similar technology that lets a website store data in your browser. Unlike cookies, this data is not sent to the server automatically; it stays in your browser.
2. Our approach in brief
- We only use first-party cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary for the website to work or that remember choices you have made.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking or social media cookies.
- Our website does not load content from third parties: fonts are self-hosted, we use no CDN, and film and series images are delivered through our own server. No third-party cookies are set through our website.
- Our anonymous page-view counts work without cookies.
3. Cookies we use
Format: name — purpose — duration — type
- kz_sid — Keeps you logged in and protects your session. It contains only a random token; our server stores only a hash of it. Set with the HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax attributes. — 30 days — strictly necessary, first-party cookie
- kz_lang — Remembers the language you have chosen. — 1 year — strictly necessary (functional), first-party cookie
4. Local storage we use
These entries are kept only in your browser and are never sent to our server automatically. They have no fixed expiry and remain in your browser until they are deleted.
Format: name — purpose — duration — type
- kz.theme — Remembers your appearance (theme) setting. — until deleted — strictly necessary / functional, local storage
- kz.lang — Remembers your language setting. — until deleted — strictly necessary / functional, local storage
- kz.list.guest — Stores the list you create as a guest without an account. It is only sent to our server if you create an account and choose to import it. — until deleted — strictly necessary / functional, local storage
- kz.recent — Shows your recent searches. — until deleted — strictly necessary / functional, local storage
- kz.listView — Remembers your preferred list layout. — until deleted — strictly necessary / functional, local storage
5. Why there is no cookie banner
Under EU rules (Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC and the national laws implementing it) and according to the cookie guidance of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority, consent is not required for cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested.
Because we only use this kind of storage, we do not show a cookie banner. If we ever decide to use cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
6. How to delete cookies and local storage
You can view and delete cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings. In most browsers you will find this under “Privacy and security”, labelled “Cookies and site data” or “Clear browsing data”. Deleting the site data for Kinozine removes both its cookies and its local storage.
Please note:
- If you delete the kz_sid cookie, you will be logged out and will need to log in again.
- If you delete kz.list.guest, your guest list will be lost permanently unless you have imported it into an account. We do not keep a copy of it on our server.
- If you block cookies, you will not be able to log in and your language choice will not be remembered.
- In private or incognito mode, browsers usually delete cookies and local storage automatically when you close the window.
7. Changes and contact
We will update this policy whenever the cookies or local storage entries we use change. If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected].
