Biografia
Peter Jackson (nato il 31 ottobre 1961) è un regista, sceneggiatore e produttore cinematografico neozelandese, considerato uno dei più importanti autori del cinema fantasy e d'avventura contemporaneo. Ha iniziato la sua carriera realizzando film indipendenti, ottenendo attenzione internazionale con opere come Creature del cielo (1994). Il grande successo è arrivato con la trilogia de Il Signore degli Anelli (2001-2003), adattamento dei romanzi di J.R.R. Tolkien, che ha ricevuto numerosi premi e riconoscimenti, tra cui undici Oscar per Il ritorno del re (2003). Successivamente ha diretto la trilogia de Lo Hobbit (2012-2014), ampliando ulteriormente l'universo della Terra di Mezzo. Nel corso della sua carriera ha lavorato anche a film come King Kong (2005) e al documentario They Shall Not Grow Old (2018), dedicato ai soldati della Prima guerra mondiale. Grazie alla sua capacità di creare mondi spettacolari e raccontare grandi storie con una forte componente emotiva, Peter Jackson è diventato uno dei registi più influenti del cinema moderno.
