Terms of Use

1. About {siteName}

Kinozine is a free, non-commercial website that helps you keep track of the films and TV series you have watched and want to watch. You can build lists, score titles, record your episode progress and, if you wish, share your profile publicly.

Kinozine is a tracking service only. You cannot watch, stream or download films or series on Kinozine. Information about films and series comes from The Movie Database (TMDB).

2. Accepting these terms

You must accept these Terms of Use when you create an account. If you use the website without an account, these terms apply to you to the extent they are relevant.

How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy, our KVKK Information Notice and our Cookie Policy.

3. Who can use {siteName}

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. When registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we will delete it.

4. Your account

• Provide accurate and up-to-date information when you register, and keep your email address current.
• Each account belongs to one person. You may not share your account with others or transfer it to someone else.
• Keep your password secret and do not reuse a password you use on other services. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
• You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. If you suspect that someone else is using your account, change your password immediately and let us know at [email protected].
• Your username is public. Usernames must not impersonate other people or organizations, and must not be misleading, insulting or unlawful.

5. Acceptable use

Please help keep Kinozine a friendly place. You may only use the service lawfully and in line with these terms. In particular, you must not:

• post or share illegal content, or use the service for illegal purposes;
• harass, threaten, bully or intimidate others;
• post hateful content that attacks people on the basis of characteristics such as race, ethnic origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability;
• impersonate another person, an organization or the Kinozine team, or misrepresent your identity;
• post spam, unsolicited advertising or repetitive, meaningless content;
• access, crawl or collect content from the service using bots, scrapers or other automated means beyond normal personal use, or put excessive load on our servers;
• try to bypass or break our security measures, gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems, or disrupt the operation of the service;
• upload content that infringes the rights of others, such as copyright, trademark, personality or privacy rights;
• share other people's personal data without their permission.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you add to Kinozine, such as your bio, avatar, profile information and profile design.

So that we can run the service, you grant Kinozine a non-exclusive, free-of-charge, worldwide license to host and display your content on the service. This license is limited to that purpose and ends when you delete the content or your account (copies in our encrypted backups are deleted within 7 days).

You are responsible for making sure you have the necessary rights to the content you upload, especially images. For example, you may only use a photo whose rights you do not hold as your avatar if the rights holder has allowed it.

Content on a public profile can be seen by anyone.

7. Moderation and enforcement

We may hide or remove content that violates these terms or the law, and we may temporarily suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate them. When deciding, we take into account how serious the violation is and whether it has happened before.

Where possible and appropriate, we will tell you what action we took and why. If you think we have made a mistake, write to us at [email protected].

8. Reporting illegal content and copyright infringement

If you come across content on Kinozine that you believe is illegal or infringes your rights (for example, your copyright), please report it to [email protected]. You can also report security vulnerabilities to this address.

We review reports as quickly as possible and remove content where a report is justified. Including the following information helps us act faster:

• the address (URL) of the page and a clear description of the content;
• why you believe the content is illegal or which of your rights it infringes;
• if you are the rights holder or act on their behalf, information confirming this;
• your name and contact details;
• a statement that the information in your report is accurate and given in good faith.

9. Film and series data from TMDB

Information and images about films and series are provided by The Movie Database (TMDB). This data may be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date, and we cannot guarantee its accuracy. Posters, images, titles and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

10. A free service, provided “as is”

Kinozine is free of charge and is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors.

We may temporarily interrupt the service for maintenance, security or technical reasons, and we may change or remove features. If we decide to shut down the service entirely, we will try to announce this in advance where possible so that you can export your data.

We recommend exporting your data from time to time using the JSON export in Settings.

11. Liability

Because Kinozine is a free service, our liability is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.

We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and in all other cases where liability cannot be limited by law.

Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage resulting in particular from inaccurate TMDB data, interruptions of the service, loss of data or the content of external websites.

Users are responsible for the content they post.

12. Ending your use of {siteName}

You can delete your account at any time in your account settings. Your account and the associated data are removed from our live database immediately, and copies in our encrypted backups are deleted within 7 days. Before deleting your account, you can download your data as a JSON file.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, as described in section 7.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will tell you about material changes a reasonable time before they take effect, by email or through a notice on the website. If you do not agree with the changes, you can delete your account. If you continue to use the service after the changes take effect, the updated terms apply.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

Governing law and place of jurisdiction: Istanbul (Çağlayan) Courts and Enforcement Offices.

If you use Kinozine as a consumer, this does not take away the protection you enjoy under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live. Where those laws allow, you may also bring claims before the courts or competent authorities of your place of residence.

15. Final provisions

If any provision of these terms is or becomes invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
