Biografie
Sir Alan William Parker (14. Februar 1944 – 31. Juli 2020) war ein Regisseur, Drehbuchautor und Produzent. Seine Spielfilme wurden mit neunzehn BAFTA Awards, zehn Golden Globes und zehn Oscars ausgezeichnet. Zu seinen Filmen zählen „Bugsy Malone“, „Midnight Express“, „Mississippi Burning“, „The Commitments“, „Evita“, „Fame“, „Birdy“, „Angel Heart“ und „Die Asche meiner Mutter“. Er war Gründungsvorsitzender des UK Film Council, ein Amt, das er fünf Jahre lang innehatte, und zuvor Vorsitzender des BFI. Sir Alan wurde 1995 mit dem CBE und 2002 mit dem Ritterschlag ausgezeichnet. Er war außerdem Officier des Arts et des Lettres (Frankreich).
