Biografie
James Francis Ivory ist ein US-amerikanischer Filmregisseur, der vor allem für die Ergebnisse seiner langjährigen Zusammenarbeit mit Merchant Ivory Productions bekannt ist, zu der sowohl der in Indien geborene Filmproduzent Ismail Merchant als auch die Drehbuchautorin Ruth Prawer Jhabvala gehörten. Ihre Filme wurden mit sechs Oscars ausgezeichnet. Ivory wurde dreimal für den Oscar als bester Regisseur nominiert und gewann 2018 im Alter von 89 Jahren seinen ersten Oscar in der Kategorie „Bestes adaptiertes Drehbuch“ für „Call Me by Your Name“.
