Biografie
Walter F. Parkes (* 15. April 1951) ist ein US-amerikanischer Produzent, Drehbuchautor und Medienmanager. Er produzierte über 50 Filme, darunter die „Men in Black“-Reihe und „Minority Report“, und ist Mitbegründer und Co-Vorsitzender von Dreamscape Immersive. Parkes und seine Frau und Geschäftspartnerin, die Produzentin Laurie MacDonald, trugen maßgeblich zum Aufbau von DreamWorks bei. Parkes leitete dort die Filmsparte, und später wechselten die beiden zu Amblin Entertainment, wo Parkes als Präsident tätig war. Er wurde dreimal für den Oscar nominiert: erstmals als Regisseur und Produzent des Dokumentarfilms „The California Reich“ (1975), zweimal für das Drehbuch zu „WarGames“ und dreimal als Produzent von „Zeit des Erwachens“. Parkes und MacDonald gründeten 2010 die Produktionsfirma Parkes + Macdonald (P+M, P+M Image Nation) und arbeiteten an der Produktion einer Reihe von Filmen zusammen, darunter auch Filme, die von Amblin veröffentlicht wurden.
