Biografie
T Bone Burnett (eigentlich Joseph Henry Burnett III) ist ein US-amerikanischer Musikproduzent, Gitarrist, Sänger und Songwriter. In den 1970er-Jahren spielte er Gitarre in Bob Dylans Band. Burnett wurde mehrfach für seine Arbeit an Film-Soundtracks ausgezeichnet, unter anderem für „O Brother, Where Art Thou?“ (2000), „Cold Mountain“ (2004), „Walk the Line“ (2005) und „Crazy Heart“ (2010). Einen weiteren Grammy erhielt er für die Produktion des Albums „Raising Sand“ (2007), auf dem er den zeitgenössischen Bluegrass von Alison Krauss mit dem Bluesrock von Led-Zeppelin-Sänger Robert Plant verband. Burnett gilt als einer der wichtigsten Förderer von Musikern wie Counting Crows, Los Lobos, Sam Phillips und Gillian Welch in ihren frühen Karrierejahren und trug maßgeblich zur Wiederbelebung der Karrieren von Gregg Allman und Roy Orbison bei. Er produzierte außerdem für Fernsehserien wie „Nashville“ und „True Detective“. Als Produzent hat er mehrere Solo-Studioalben veröffentlicht, darunter Tooth of Crime (2008), das er für eine Wiederaufführung des gleichnamigen Theaterstücks von Sam Shepard komponierte.
