Biografie
Andrea Louise Riseborough ist eine englische Schauspielerin und Produzentin. Sie gab ihr Filmdebüt mit einer kleinen Rolle in Venus (2006) und spielte seitdem prominentere Rollen in Happy-Go-Lucky (2008), Alles, was wir geben mussten, Brighton Rock, We Want Sex (alle 2010), W.E. – Die Romanze des Jahrhunderts (2011), Shadow Dancer (2012), Disconnect, Enemies – Welcome to the Punch, Oblivion (alle 2013), Birdman oder (Die unverhoffte Macht der Ahnungslosigkeit) (2014), Nocturnal Animals (2016), Battle of the Sexes – Gegen jede Regel, The Death of Stalin (beide 2017), Mandy, Nancy (beide 2018), The Grudge (2019) und Possessor (2020). Für ihre Darstellung einer genesenden Süchtigen in dem Drama To Leslie (2022) erhielt Riseborough eine Nominierung für den Oscar als beste Hauptdarstellerin. Außerhalb des Films erhielt Riseborough eine BAFTA-Nominierung für ihre Darstellung von Margaret Thatcher in dem Fernsehfilm Margaret Thatcher: The Long Walk to Finchley (2008) und wurde von der Kritik für ihre Darstellungen in den Channel 4-Miniserien Die Mätresse Des Teufels (2008) und Ende einer Legende (2016) sowie in der BBC One-Miniserie Zeugin der Anklage (2016). Zu ihren Theaterrollen zählen August Strindbergs Fräulein Julie, Shakespeares Maß für Maß (Theatre Royal, Bath, beide 2006) und Anton Tschechows Iwanow (West End, 2008).
