Biografie
Andrew Neville Wilman (born August 16, 1962) is an English television producer best known as the creative force and long-time executive producer behind some of the most popular motoring television shows in history. Born in Glossop, Derbyshire, England, Wilman attended Repton School, where he formed a lifelong friendship with future collaborator Jeremy Clarkson (as well as notable Formula One designer Adrian Newey). Before transitioning into television, Wilman built a career in motoring journalism, writing for publications like *Auto Express* and *Top Gear Magazine*. Wilman's television career took off when he teamed up with Clarkson to co-create the modern, revamped format of BBC's ***Top Gear*** in 2002. Serving as the show's executive producer until 2015, Wilman was instrumental in shaping its unique blend of cinematic automotive journalism, ambitious global specials, and irreverent comedy alongside presenters Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. His work on the program earned him multiple BAFTA nominations and turned the series into a global phenomenon. Following their departure from the BBC in 2015, Wilman, Clarkson, Hammond, May, and producer Andy Wilman founded the production company W. Chump & Sons. Through this venture, Wilman partnered with Amazon Studios to create ***The Grand Tour***, which premiered in 2016. He has also served as an executive producer on the hit documentary series ***Clarkson's Farm***.
