Biografie
Diane Eve Warren ist eine US-amerikanische Songwriterin. Bekannt wurde sie erstmals durch ihre Arbeit an DeBarges Single „Rhythm of the Night“ aus dem Jahr 1985. Ende der 1980er-Jahre wechselte sie zum Plattenlabel EMI und schrieb Geschichte: Sie war die erste Songwriterin in der Geschichte des Billboard-Magazins, die sieben Hitsingles verfasste, die jeweils von verschiedenen Künstlern aufgenommen wurden. Dies veranlasste den damaligen Vorsitzenden von EMI UK, Peter Reichardt, sie als „die wichtigste Songwriterin der Welt“ zu bezeichnen. Warren schrieb neun Nummer-eins-Hits und 33 Top-10-Songs in den Billboard Hot 100, darunter „If I Could Turn Back Time“ (Cher, 1989), „Look Away“ (Chicago, 1988), „Because You Loved Me“ (Céline Dion, 1996), „How Do I Live“ (LeAnn Rimes, 1997), „When I See You Smile“ (Bad English, 1989) und „I Don't Want to Miss a Thing“ (Aerosmith, 1998). Zwei der 13 größten Hits in der 57-jährigen Geschichte der Hot 100 stammen aus ihrer Feder. Sie wurde in die Songwriters Hall of Fame aufgenommen und erhielt einen Stern auf dem Hollywood Walk of Fame. Sie gewann 2008 den Ivor Novello Award sowie den Special International Award. Im November 2022 erhielt sie bei den Governors Awards einen Ehrenoscar.
